A non-profit organization serving artists and those interested in art in Johnson, Lafayette, Henry, and Pettis counties.
Mid-Missouri Artists, Inc. was established in 1970 to encourage area artists in their creative endeavors and to foster, promote, and advance the existing cultural and educational organizations in Mid-Missouri. MMA provides an environment where artists and those interested in art can meet, share, and exchange ideas and information about the art world in general. Monthly Meetings Meetings are held the last Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Warrensburg Community Building. Programs feature guest artists and often hands-on educational activities in a variety of art media. Visitors, guests, and new members are always WELCOME! Art Shows Spring Fine Arts Show – a juried show with cash and ribbon awards, open to all members and non members. CMSU Gallery Show – During July members exhibit works at the CMSU Art Center Gallery. Christmas Arts and Crafts Show – vendors, including members, sell original arts and crafts items. Members receive a reduced vendor fee. Held in November in the Warrensburg Community Center. Chilhowee Fair Art Show – open show with ribbons and cash awards, sponsored by MMA in August during this one-day fair. Other shows will be announced through the newsletter and at meetings. 2008 Meeting Schedule January 31 – Program presented by Warrensburg High School Art Club February 28 – Entering Art Shows; Preparing Work for Shipping - Panel March 27 – What’s Old is New – Rescuing Old Frames – Kelli Kish April 24 - May 29 – Capturing Flowing Water with Colored Pencil – a hands-on workshop with Cindy Morris June, July, August – special paintouts and activities. September 25 – October 30 - November 20 (note the early date) - December 13 – Christmas Dinner and Installation of Officers – donations of children’s art supplies received for Survival SPRING FINE ARTS SHOW April 26-27, 2008 UCM Gallery Member’s Show – July CHRISTMAS ARTS and CRAFTS – November 8, 2008	Workshops and Classes MMA in conjunction with the Warrensburg Parks & Recreation Department offers several art classes which include beginning as well as advanced instruction. MMA members have the opportunity to serve as instructors for these classes.
