Karen (Heatwole) Hogan
Karen Heatwole Hogan, 31, Warrensburg, died Friday, June 6, 1997, in an accident near her home. She was born May 31, 1966, in Kansas City, the daughter of John Heatwole and Dorothy Henke Heatwole. She was a 1984 graduate of Warrensburg High School and had worked in housekeeping at the Best Western motel in Warrensburg. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Heatwole and Melissa Hogan, both of the home; two sons, Daniel Hogan and Nicholas Shane, both of the home; her mother, Dorothy Heatwole, Warrensburg; five sisters Sherry Plute, Leeton, Debbie Frye, Independence, and Jill Fischback, Christina Friedhofen, and Dawn Heatwole, all of Warrensburg. She was preceded in death by her father, John Heatwole, on March 10, 1986; and a sister, Amy Heatwole Hicks, on November 29, 1996. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on June 11, 1997, at the Bethel Baptist Church north of Warrensburg, with the Revs. George Hecker and Larry Townsend officiating. Burial was in the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
