Garry Cockrum

Garry D. Cockrum, 39, San Bernardino, Calif., formerly of Warrensburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at the St. Bernadine Medical Center in San Bernardino. He was born Nov. 14, 1965, in Warrensburg, the son of Glen Cockrum and Sarah Bergman Cockrum. Mr. Cockrum was a graduate of Warrensburg High School and worked as a supervisor in human relations for Tel Tec in Los Angeles, Calif. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sarah and Cecil Campbell of Warrensburg; a stepsister, Kim Wiley, Higginsville; two stepbrothers, David Campbell, Farmington, and Jim Campbell, Harrisonville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Cockrum, in August 1980; maternal grandparents, Edwin "Bergie" and Hazel Bergman; and paternal grandparents, Alf and Bess Cockrum. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home, Warrensburg, with Pastor Pete Beard officiating. Burial will be in the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pallbearers are Kevin Bergman, Alfred Cockrum, Scot Cockrum, Mike Cockrum, Nicholas Landkamer and Paul Landkamer. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the fumeral home.
