I married Mike Parker (class of '82) in 1988. We have 2 daughters, Cheyenne (born 1/97) and Bailey (born 10/98). I am self employed as a cosmetologist after having worked at Saks Fifth Ave for the past 7 years. Mike has his own agency with American Family Insurance, which he started in 1993. We enjoy golfing , fishing, traveling and spending time with the girls.
UPDATE: (As of 9/29/04) First I want to say that I'm glad for the opportunity to have seen so many of you at the reunion. I wanted to send personal emails to those that I missed...unfortunately there never seems to be enough time. (Look at how long it's taken me to get my update to Brian;) Truly wish I'd been able to catch up with each of you.
I do know that everyone deserves a complement for looking so great! ....and for the families that they are raising (the kids were all fantastic at the pool;) I also hope those of you that did not make it, do know that you were definitely missed!!!! Maybe next time?!
As for me, I'm still working in a salon... but now managing my own as a side business in the Brookside area (K.C.). I found that once I got into aviation, it didn't take long for me to become attached. After working for two other airlines (America West and Vanguard-until they went bankrupt) I went to Frontier Airlines.
I'm working at the airport full-time and just recently became a trainer for our Kansas City Station. However, I'm actually cross-trained to do pretty much everything from ticket counter...to gate...to flight operations...to ramp! (Never thought I'd love working the ramp-but it's a rush bringing in the planes and then actually pushing them out!=)
Mike still has his own business as an American Family Insurance Agent. Definitely makes it easier for him to do business on the golf course, when necessary...and take off occasionally so we can enjoy the flight benefits!
As for our little girls, they don't seem to be so little anymore. Bailey just started kindergarten and Cheyenne started second grade! WOW, where does the time go? They're already wanting to take on the world and be "thirty, flirty, and thriving"...13 Going on 30;) Besides being into all the fun kid stuff they too love having the opportunity to fly when we can work it into our schedules.
I know a few of you said to let you know when we're heading your way....and we will. Likewise, I hope that you do the same. Hope all of you take care and be safe-always;) Alice

p.s. Thanks to so many of you that have expressed concern for my brother Cecil (class of '86) and his fight with brain cancer. He is still doing therapy to help regain strength so he can walk again. His spirits are up and he just takes one day at a time:) We did recently have good news after his last MRI (brain scan). The cancer has not progressed...even being temporarily off chemo. Hopefully his immune system will soon build back up so he can once again start chemo. He and our family thank everyone too...from deep within their hearts. They are truly touched by the prayers,
email and kind words.
