Directory to obtain a list of usernames for an email marketing campaig of
any type? 8. Who do I contact

other questions for this FAQ. Who do I
tell?
1. Is I-Land's User Directory open to the
public?
The I-Land User Directory is available only
to I-Land subscribers who are dialed in to I-Land's network. While
previous versions of the User Directory were accessible from anywhere on
the Internet, we have made this change so that the User Directory will be
less likely to be used by spammers as an address list.
2. I've never visited the User
Directory. Why do I have a listing?
Our
previous User Directory had many listings. A listing may be tied to
your email address for one of three reasons. 1) when you signed
up, we asked if you'd like to be listed, and you said "yes"; 2) you
visited the previous User Directory page and requested a listing; or
3) before signing up with I-Land, your email address may have been
used by another subscriber, who had a listing that was inadvertently left
on our system.
3. Does I-Land
proofread or otherwise verify User Directory entries for
accuracy?
The answer is "no"...basically. If
you've found an error on your site, simply edit your directory entry. But
users are expected to provide accurate
information. If intentionally inaccurate or misleading info
is brought to our attention, we will respond, and such inaccurate info
could result in the termination of a user's
service.
4. What are
the guidelines for use of the User Directory?
All
terms of the Acceptable Use Policy apply
to use of the User Directory. Since this directory is meant for the
general use of the entire I-Land community, I-Land reserves the right to
remove or refuse to post any information that it deems to be offensive or
otherwise inappropriate. Posting of such material may result in
termination of a user's service.
5. Each member of my family wants a listing. Is that
possible?
You are allowed up to three listings per
email address. So with a standard dialup account, you may create a
listing for yourself and two other family members (or co-workers, if you
have a business account). Additional entries in the User Directory
would be possible only by obtaining additional email
accounts.
6. Can I access the
User Directory while traveling?
Only users connected
directly to I-Land's network may access the User Directory. If you
are on the road and need access to the User Directory, you will only be
able to do so by dialing into one of I-Land's local access numbers.
This may require a long distance call.
7. Can I use this User Directory to obtain a list of user names for
an email marketing campaign of any type?
I-Land
provides this list for the personal use of our customers. Any use of
the list to attempt an unsolicited commercial contact of any type with a
listed customer is not allowed. Any misuse of this service in this
manner will result in termination of a customer's
service. We may also seek other remedies as provided by law.
8. Who do I contact about
problems with the User Directory?
If you
experience any problems with the User Directory or have questions about
its use, please contact "support@iland.net". They will
answer your question if possible, or forward any
apparent problems to the appropriate technical
staff.
9. I want to suggest other
questions for this FAQ. Who do I
tell?

FAQ, please put them in an email to support@iland.net. We
