Windows 9.x/Me I-Wireless 

 

Note: Before configuring your Network Protocols please, make sure you have your Windows CD. If any changes are made you may be prompted to insert the CD.
    1. Click Start. Go to Settings and click on Control Panel.

    2. In the Control Panel, double click the Network icon.

    3. In Network (under the Configuration tab), make sure there is an Adapter for the Ethernet card that is installed in the computer. There also needs to be a TCP/IP for the Ethernet card.

      Note: There will be other components listed but you will only be dealing with the ones for the Ethernet card.

    4. Click once on TCP/IP (that will highlight it).

    5. Click the Properties button. That will open a Properties box for TCP/IP.

    6. In the TCP/IP Properties box, under the IP Address tab, click on Specify an IP address (that will place a dot in the circle to the left).

    7. In the IP Address field enter the IP Address (from the front of your Wireless information packet).

    8. Enter 255.255.254.0 in the Subnet Mask field.

    9. Click the Gateway tab (at the top of the box).

    10. Enter 216.74.211.254 in the New gateway field.  Click Add.

    11. Click the DNS Configuration tab (at the top of the box).

    12. Click Enable DNS (this will place a dot in the circle to the left).

    13. Enter your I-Land User Name in the Host field.

    14. Enter iland.net in the Domain field.

    15. Enter 204.87.167.251 in the DNS Server Search Order field.  Click Add. Click back into the field and enter 205.242.230.5.  Press Add again. Click back into the field one more time and enter 204.87.167.205.  Click Add. Press OK. This will take you back to the Network box. Click OK.
       
      Note: If your system requires files from your Windows CD, you will be prompted for it at this point. You will be prompted to restart the computer at this time. Press OK to Restart. After the computer restarts the Control Panel will reopen.

    16. Double click the Internet Options icon (in the Control Panel).

    17. Click the Connections tab. Check, Dial whenever a network connection is not present (this will place a dot in the circle to the left). Press OK and close the Control Panel.
