Arrow Rock's African-American Symposium includes speakers from Arrow Rock, Kansas City and Washington DC on topics of the African-American experience from slavery to freedom including a nationally-known historian on Prince Hall Masons. There will be a living history and music presentation along with tours of the Black Lodge, Brown's Chapel and nearby Prairie Park (a privately restored plantation home). Registration of $25 includes a noon meal at the historic 1834 J. Huston Tavern. Reservations may be made by calling 660-837-3231 or at FriendsofArrowRock.org
